Makan-makan @ Ipoh, Perak

How much food can you try if you are only plan to stay 2 days in Ipoh? Well, I have done my homework prior to the trip :). Since I had tried Foh Son's Dim Sum, Ming Kok's Dim Sum, Lou Wong's bean sprouts chicken and Ong Kee's bean spouts chicken before, this time we are going to try out something else.

On 10-Sep-10 morning, we arrived Thean Chun kopitiam about 8:45am. Just nice as we managed to find a table. 10 minutes later, out of sudden packed with people and full house. We ordered the famous Ipoh White Coffee, custard (RM1.20), Ipoh's noodles (RM5.60) {you can choose the side dish "Liu" that you like}, "Kai See" Koay Teow Thng (RM3.70) and Chee Cheong Fun (RM3.00). We loved all of them, especially the thin and smooth Koay Teow, superb!

Along Jalan Bandar Timah (so called Ipoh Oldtown), got a lots of kopitiam. Really a "Wai Sek Kai". I will definitely explore for more in my next trip to Ipoh.

We stopped by Bercham for dinner. Got this one from the Internet. For big serving Claypot rice, it costs RM9.80. Not pricey IMO. Actually myself and wife cannot finished it. Got a lots of chicken meats and Chinese hotdog. Next time will try out the Claypot Clab Rice @ Restaurant Rasa Lain, also around Bercham.

Before heading home to Penang, we stopped by Ipoh Oldtown again for lunch. Restaurant Hoong Tho is an old restaurant and passed on by generations. Here, we ordered the famous fresh water prawn noodle, deep fried wanton (Zi Yen favourite), deep fried fish paste with wanton skin and fried spring roll. We also tapau the Cempedak cake, something you should try it.
