Trip To Ipoh (with Dad and Mom)
We started our journey around 7am and arrived Ipoh about 9am. Well, the first thing is looking for good food. Based on Ipoh-kia recommendation, we had our dim sum @ Ming Kok (明阁) restaurant. Indeed, very nice dim sum with reasonable price.
Next, we drove to Kek Lok Tong and spent about 2 hours there.
Kek Lok Tong, Perak (极乐洞)
Kek Lok Tong was opened in the 1970’s, it is the most recent temple caves in Ipoh and perhaps the most spectacular of them all. The temple is set in a huge cave in the limestone outcrops behind Gunung Rapat.
Kek Lok Tong Temple Caves also is a limestone cave. It is located in Gunung Rapat near another cave called Sam Poh Tong, about 5 km south of Ipoh town.
The temple has impressive works of art, with Buddha statues in various forms among natural stalactites, stalagmites, and more rock formations.
After a quick lunch, we continued our next journey to Sam Poh Tong.
Sam Poh Tong, Perak (三宝洞)
Another famous cave temple is the Sam Poh Tong temple, located in Gunung Rapat, 5 km south of lpoh. The temple is an impressive work of art and faith, with various statues of Buddha among natural stalactites and stalagmites. There is also a pond where visitors can feed tortoise, (symbol of longevity) with stalks of vegetables and a wishing well for those seeking better fortunes. Outside the temple is a vegetarian restaurant.
By the time around 6pm, we eat again. This round at the famous beansprouts chicken, Lou Wong (老黃芽菜雞沙河粉) restaurant. If you want to know how good is the chicken and taugeh, try Google search.
Still not enough, we even tapau the famous salted chickens (盐锔鸡) from Aun Kheng Lim (宴琼林) Restaurant back home.

Rainbow CSX265 2-Way Component Set
My very first audiophile set. Surprising for my car and not my home. It was started back in late 2005 after got 'poisoned' by my friend's car audio system.
A lot of friends asked me why I spent so much money on car audio. Well, I would agree that for most people will spend more on home audio than car audio but for my case quite opposite, at least for now. You see, normally I need to drive about 45 min to reach my workplace. Not to mention if got accident on the Penang Bridge, it may stretch up to 2 hours, sigh. So, this is where I find 'peace' in good music ... or otherwise ...
Rainbow CSX265 is a entry 2-Way component set, comes with a pair of tweeter, midbass and passive crossover. Passive crossover is used to split the audio frequency, i.e. the correct frequency to the tweeter and midbass. So with passive crossover, you only need a 2 channel amplifier to drive the component speakers, one for the left channel and one for the right channel. For car audio-kaki, we normally add a subwoofer in order to have a 'feel' or 'kick' in the music. Therefore you need another 1 channel (monoblock) or 2 channel amplifier to power the subwoofer.
Apart from the hardwares, proper speakers installation and tuning are crucial to optimize your car audio setup. Otherwise, it may sound worst than your stock system. Through proper installation and tuning, you are able to 'combine' back the sound from tweeters, mids and subwoofer. You can actually sense the soundstage on your dashboard. You can also pinpoint where is the singer and instrument locations. Just imagine, you got a 'live' band plays in front of you, nice huh.
Just a precautionary note, if you not into car audio or home audio, good for you. Else, this is just a beginning of a 'nightmare'. As time goes by, your addiction will get deeper and deeper, same goes to your wallet, he he. Trust me, the journey will never end as you continue to seek for perfection. You will always ask yourself why other people's sound system is better although they play the same CD??? One of the car audio installer ever mentioned to me before that one of his clients spent almost RM60k just on car audio system ... wah lau ehh ... So, when comes to hobby, some people are willing to eat maggie mee everyday just to fulfill your dream.
