Corner Club Restaurant - Gurney Drive

Few Penang-kia recommended this place for great Dim Sum. Phew, I need to drive for about 1 hour from BM, via Penang Bridge to Gurney Drive.

To our surprise, we arrived around 7am with still plenty of car park, hmmm. Inside the restaurant just got 2 tables occupied, ahhh... Doesn't look like a popular Dim Sum hang out place to me.

We just picked our favorite table and settled down. With only 2 adults, we can't sample much Dim Sum. We ordered Siew Mai, Har Kau, Lor Mai Kai and other pastry and deep fried Har Kin and Kam Chin Wanton. Dim Sum here very fresh and the prawn is big and very Q. Taste wise just above average. I still prefer 大優賓 (Sungai Petani) Dim Sum (click here).

Address: 55, Gurney Drive, 10250 Penang.
Tel: 04-2282888
Business hours: 7am-3pm (for Dim Sum)
GPS coordinate: N 5° 25' 54.048" E 100° 19' 2.892"

After heavy breakfast, need to jog a bit.

Impiana Hotel, Ipoh

First of all, I am not affiliated to Impiana Hotel.

I stayed at this hotel on a recent visit to Ipoh. Impiana Hotel (formerly known as Casuarina Parkroyal Hotel) is located at Jalan Raja Dr. Nazrin Shah (formerly known as Jalan Gopeng). It is a 4 stars rating hotel with 200 rooms. Room rate at festive season at RM300 nett per room (Superior Deluxe room), sigh....

The likes: Very strategic location. Famous Ipoh's bean sprout chicken rice and Dim Sum restaurants just nearby. Ipoh Oldtown also not far away, good for those kaki makan like me. Nice and clean swimming pools (voted by my kids).

The dislikes: Very old hotel. While the exterior maintained well, not on the hotel room. Still with 21" CRT TV with blurred image, no CNN/HBO. Everything inside the room is aging liao... Observed exposed cables. Road noise, yup, my room facing the main road. Anyway, just for a night stay.....

Enjoy the photo. Still perfecting my photography skill with my newly purchased Nikon D90 DSLR camera, with Tamron 17-50mm F/2.8 lens. To me, picture of perfect moment is priceless...

Lost World of Tambun (10-Sep-2010)

Lost World of Tambun, the hidden ancient city within Ipoh town. I thought we have found the lost ancient Mayan city in Ipoh, he he...

Ticket prices at RM38 for Adult and RM32 for Children. If book online, you get discounted price at RM32 for Adult and RM28 for Children. Immediately I got saved RM20 for whole family.

The weather is perfect and it is a great outdoor activity for the family.

As usual, the cameramen stands behind the camera :(

Remember, only applicable for single entry.

Walking to nowhere...

Nice, a mini Zoo to please the kids.

This is something I wanted to try for very very long time already. To overcome my phobia about cold and elongated reptile, i.e. the snake. Guess what, my wife and kids also touch the snake. Too bad, we still don't have the gut to touch the snake head.
